Silent White

Silent White is the color of these walls. These walls, that watch my family everyday. Watch us wake up and groggily turn on the TV. Watch me make muffins and add extra chocolate chips. Watch us debate what game we should play as we sit on the couch. Watch me struggle to do math, then triumphantly exclaim “I got 2 out of 7!” Watch us sit at the dinner table and talk about our day. Watch us talk about our world, and the crazy oblivion we have let cloud people’s minds. Watch us complain about our masks. Watch us talk about Jesus as we sit on the couch right before bed. Watch us read, and read, and read some more. Watch us play babies, throwing them birthday parties, and have them create the Save The Worms Foundation. Watch me cry when I’m feeling defeated. Watch us worry over what might happen to us. Watch my parents put on a brave face. Watch my brother crack jokes. Watch us laugh until we fall off the couch. Watch us quote random memes and videos at every hour of the day. Watch us pray in the late hours of the night. Watch us frantically get ready for Church on Sunday. Watch us bring home Chick-Fil-A at 7 at night after we worked at the property. Watch us sit at the coffee table and watch “Buddy vs. Duff,” “Amazing Race,” and “AFV.” Watch us argue and scream and sit in our room and cry. Watch us put holes in the wall, break windows, chip paint, and scratch the floor. Watch us cook meals for 6 or 7 people three times a day. Watch us paint and draw and create and write, unafraid to create the impossible. These walls could tell some stories. These walls have seen all our ups and downs, our do’s and don’t’s, our fails and our victories. Silent White is the color of our story.
