Willing Themselves

Two lovers, a world apart. They reach and stretch their long limbs, willing themselves to go farther. They clothe themselves in beautiful green, majestic in every way. If only their seeds had been closer together, they thought. They would have great adventures right here; catching the wind, collecting the dew. They’d have beautiful children, nurturing them as only a tree can. They would create oxygen for the critters and allow them to live in their trunks. But, not until they can hold the other’s hand will they strive to do anything else.
